MP3s

HOME

Well I'm not a MP3 or digital music or video expert.   90% of the reason I compile MP3s is to listen while running.  For this use "thumping" or "heavy strumming" tends to be the best; some bands that come to mind are Genesis, Bob Seger (especially his traveling songs), Boston, some Led Zepplin, and an occasional Bruce.  I really like folk, some 60's and 70's oldies, and alternative and album rock, but not everything is not best for this outdoor, motivation-needed activity.  Oh, and I really like creative, folky women like Mary-Chapin Carpenter, Shawn Colvin.  A few favorite, slightly alternative bands are The Church and 'Til Tuesday.

Here are some awesome sites.  These guys (I haven't found any gals yet) know their music and are happy to share.  If I'm going to spend the time downloading, storing, making CDs, and uploading to a MP3 player I want only the best songs.  Why reinvent the wheel?  These people know it better than I do.  I am extremely grateful to the proprietors of these sites.

Jukebox Gold

This one, by Lowen & Navarro (Walking On A Wire) I wish I had, but here's a link to it.

I saw the rain-drenched valley,

You saw brigadoon.

I saw the crescent,

You Saw the whole of the moon.

- The Waterboys (Mike Scott, writer)

It's what the mountain reveals about us that has any lasting value.

- David Brashears, Filmmaker and author on the famous Mt. Everest climber death incident
